Good Day!

I felt pretty good today, maybe the excitement if getting my camper helped. I've got energy and couldn't wait to get my hands on it!

By the time I got back from softball she was there. I had to get a tow truck to get her out, but she made it. I have a new blog. All for the camper.  With pics. If you're interested, let me know. I'm not linking then as far as I know.

I have 11 days until surgery. I have a bunch of school work to do, and a lot of games to sit through. I want to get the camper gutted before surgery so everything is clean to work in.

Here's to feeling good and the start of having my glamper!

Almost June!

I am blogging from the computer which is a rarity since Brad is always on it at night. I use my ipad, and only have limited features.  Whatever, it is just nice to see things large and use a keyboard.  Where's Brad if I am on the computer?  Well, he and a friend are on their way to our place in Wisconsin to bring back my camper.  They have a plan, not sure if it is going to work, but I do trust Brad's judgment.  He isn't always right, but he wouldn't drive 3.5 hours each way if he wasn't confident in being able to be successful in his journey...see, that is a journey! Ha!

I felt pretty good today.  Less stomach crap.  I am thinking that my crazy mind manifests pains... could be. Now that I got the results that I am clean inside, I feel better.  How could I be crazy if I acknowledge that I know that this could be happening subconsciously?  Whoa.  Maybe I am a psychic, or more likely, a psycho.  Either way, I feel good in the gut today.  As for my left side, argh!  I have nothing good to say except June 10th, cannot come soon enough!  I am looking for serious relief.  Like the kind you get when you take off too tight pants you have been wearing all day...you know that aaahhhhh...... feeling.  Damn.  I am getting my hopes up high for that...but I was told it was like that.  Wishful thinking.  I have a premonition that my end result won't be as fabulous as I would like.  Perhaps super lopsidedness or size difference.  At this point I don't care.  I do care, but there isn't a lot more I would be willing to do. Hopefully I am wrong.  Trust the doctor. He worked magic the last time he was in there. If not, change them out, buy a padded bra, move on.

Spent almost 3 hours at a softball game tonight. That is on top of last nights 3 hour baseball game.  Phew.  I love going to the games. I love watching the kids play and I really enjoy talking with the other parents. Both teams are very enjoyable.  Another game tomorrow, and Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday...no break in sight.  Oh well, could be worse things to do.  Like all the stuff I did last year at this time.

Fingers crossed for:  Brad successfully bringing back my glamper to be...not sure the name yet.  Going to start a blog for rehabbing the camper.  I want to document it for Marley.
Fingers crossed that I am on the road to no pain, discomfort and all health related things are good!
Fingers crossed that surgery goes well and I get good results!  We will revisit those last two often.

Happy Weekend

Okay

I was on a field trip today when I  got my lab results from the various biopsies they took during my scopes. Overall, the first line of the report is all I understood: all findings were benign, come back in five years. The rest was all this medical stuff I couldn't understand. I did filter out mild chronic gastritis. Not sure what that even is. I tried to read it on my phone but I was busy, haven't looked again because I don't want to yet. All I need to hear is that no cancer or bad stuff was found. I'm taking the meds the GI gave me, but not sure they're working. I have an ulcer and now this gastritis stipuff, that's got to be what is causing my dumb stomach issues. Or at least I still hope so.

I'll be honest, it's scary. My life is scary. I can't explain it any other way. Every ache and pain or weirdness freaks me out. It sucks and I don't let it stop me, but I wish it wasn't like that. It's also very lonely because nobody understands. Okay, not nobody, few people understand.  Plus people don't want to hear about how you're scared, they don't.  People only want to really hear, " I'm fine."  I live a strange life.  This is a long haul marathon and I'm on an open road alone.

I've been to a game every night this week and tonight's three hour baseball game got us home at 9:30! That's too late for dinner and too late for not being at home. Argh! We have games everyday for the next 8 days.

I think brad is going to try to get my camper this weekend.  I sure hope his plan works.

Happy Camper

I'm still on a "found my camper" high. I want it here so bad!! I've watched a few how to videos-I'm sure I'll be viewing a lot more. Mars and I will need to spend some quality time at the fabric store picking a color scheme. I know that's way ahead of us, but it's a great motivator. Knowing there are curtains and cushions ready at the helm will empower us to work!

Today my weird stomach thing was pretty obvious, but I did forget to take the pill the GI put me on. I took it all weekend and felt good. I took it this afternoon when I got home.  I haven't heard anything from the samples they sent out. He said about a week, and it's been a week. Makes me nervous. The longer the wait the worse the news, found that out first hand. Maybe Memorial Day threw them off.
Can't do much about it.  Fingers crossed!  I've got plans for this summer!

I'm thinking of starting a second blog about the camper. That way we can share our progress with those who care.

8 days of work. Hold tight! That means 13 days until these super painful expanders are replaced with -anything smooshier! Coughing hurts and sneezing-feels like I'm having a heart attack. Countdown is on.

What a Memorable Weekend!

Yes, I said memorable instead of memorial-because it was a great weekend full if things we'll remember forever! I think I'll list them in order of happening:

1. Gorgeous weather
2. Became the proud owner of my own vintage camper!!! The 4 year quest is over!!!! That's a whole story in its own!!! I'm so happy!!! I had even had a premonition prior to this weekend that this was the weekend I'd find my GLAMPER!  It actually found me.
3. We had a log explode, shoot a fireball 15 ft. Into the air and spray embers everywhere burning all of our canvas on our sling chairs. We had decided to eat inside.  Luckily. Sounded like a M80-scared the crud out of us. No joke. It was heard far away and people thought we were shooting fireworks. Thank goodness we weren't out there.
4. All four of us competed against each other in an art project.
5. We went on a beautiful canoe trip. We went with our friends who have a cabin up there. Dane kayaked and the three of us canoed. All bluffs and twists in river. Perfect weather too!
6. Did I mention the camper??????
It was an awesome weekend. I'll share the story another night. It's pretty unbelievable actually.
There she is. She is now resting in my barn. She does not have road worthy wheels or tires. We plan to flat bed tow her home. Hopefully next weekend. She's about 12ft long. Probably a1967-69. She needs work, but she's a keeper. She's been stored indoors so she's not moldy. I can see the beauty in her-so can Marley...this is for us. Dane's going to help, already has. Brad will too-but doesn't want it to be his project. Good. I don't want it to be his either. Yeah!!!!!  I'm so excited!!!  This year is looking up!!!!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend

Going to a happy place. To think and relax. Regroup and replan my life. May your weekend be wonderful.

Busy Wednesday-No Creative Name for Today

I went for my last PT for awhile.  I know what stretches to do and will continue working on them at home.  She told me that if within 30 days I want to come back I can without another script.  We thought it would be good to come back after surgery and set a plan for strengthening my shoulder and arms to get back into the physical shape I want to be in. Roller derby is out, but I still want to draw my bow and do other normal things I used to.  She said 12 weeks of strength training at home 3x a week will get me there. I can do that. I'm supposed to start with soup can weights. That's easy enough.  So I say. She was great, I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable PT.

After PT was Marley's game-they won. Then Brad, Marely and I went for dinner. Dane was just coming home from his babysitting job. Time to rest. Gone all day.  That's okay, I don't mind it-I like being busy!

Scopes are Done

All went well scope wise. I had both the endoscopy and colonoscopy today.  I really didn't want to do it, but it wasn't as bad as I anticipated.  The prep work wasn't fun, the taste was horrid, but it wasn't like I was in the bathroom all night. It calmed down. I got a couple hours of rest.

Everyone in this department was very nice also. The nurse who was going to give me an IV was a little shaky-I told her I wanted my port accessd not an IV. She said nobody down there was certified to access it. I suggested they call oncology upstairs and send me one of the nurses. I told her they loved me and would help me out.  The called back and said, "tell Your Highness that someone will be right there."  And then they were. Pays to be a nice person. No way would I opt for an IV, forget it. Plus, she was shaky, and shoppin for a vein... No thanks!

The doc said there really wasn't anything he saw that was of concern. He removed a couple tiny mm polyps, and noticed an ulcerated area in my stomach. He's going to give me meds to clear that up. He took tissue samples and of course sent then out-but he really didn't seem concerned. Said he'd like to see me in 3-5 years for a follow up. So I have to go with his gut until we get final results, but he's the expert. He does this all day. Crappy job. Hehe

I'm tired, drained feeling... Literally and figuratively.  Had some lunch. Need to stay away from raw fruits and veggies and seeds and nuts for at least a week. To help areas from polyp removal heal faster.

Alright. That's donish.  Thank you for the texts checking in on me today. This stuff is tough and I hate it so much!

Next-genetic test-but won't get results until July.  Cross that bridge later. Don't even want to ponder all that.

Sooner-June 20th-switcheroo procedure! Whoo-hoo!!

Blech!!!! Nasty!

I'm working on downing my prep poison for tomorrow's scopes. It is nasty!!!! Oh man! I don't know what's worse! I've had two CT scans both with different gross things to drink, and now this. It's rotten. I can't even describe it. I have to down this 16 oz. concoction mixed with ginger ale, then in the next hour I have to down another 32 0z. Of water!  I'm going to bloat up!!!  ** just finished-let the fun begin. I could only stay for an inning at Marley's game because of this-but at least I got to see that. I figured what was 20 minutes in the grand scheme of what's in store for me over the next several hours.

I'll be honest, I don't really care about the scopes that much. I've been poked and prodded and what not. I'm sure if they are going to make fun of me, I'm not the first.  I used have modesty and dignity, but that's long gone now.  What I am nervous is what they could find.  Realistically my odds are good that nothing major is going on in there. I keep telling myself that. I keep telling myself that it would have shown in th CT like the doctor said. It's my mantra to get me through this.

Need to hear that all looks good, maybe IBS or something I can live with. Just nothing major please.  I'm so ready to start planning this summer, getting in shape once these expanders are removed and reclaiming and reinventing myself. I don't want to overly reinvent, not like a mid life crisis-I think last year was my unsolicited mid life crisis. See-I'll live until I'm 86, and I'm good with that.

All I know is that is household needs a break. We need a little less stress around here and a lot more fun.  We need to not worry so much and breathe. So much going on all the time.

I'm not sure I will be up for blogging later. I have to repeat this again at 5:00 in the morning. See you then.

Going to Miss My Food

It was pizza and a beer, with a piece of the best cake Brad makes as my last meal before the ubercleanse.  Tomorrow I can only eat clear liquids all day. I'm worried that I will become massively 'hangry' - you know that crabbiness that sets in when your starving!  Then at six p.m. tomorrow night I start the stuff that cleans you out. Looking forward to that-not . I have to miss Dane and Marley's games because I have to stay home.  Then on Tuesday, I have to get up at 5:00a.m for another round of this stuff.  Then 11:15 I have a date with the doctor.

I'm enjoying my glass of milk (not clear) and my cake-the chocolate chip brown sugar pound cake with maple espresso glaze.(also not clear).  I need to make some jello (not red) as one of the only things I can eat. So, breakfast will be black coffee. Lunch will be jello, juice and a sucker. Dinner will be juice and maybe broth. Who has broth? If I just take up smiling I can be on a Hollywood diet!!!

Good luck to me!!

Hair We Go

I hate to complain about having a bad hair day, when I know what that truly can mean, but my hair is taking on a life of its own!  Granted I haven't had it cut- because I'd like to grow it long again. But it's so curly! So out of control!!!! It's like a hair helmet!  If I wear a headband it's tamable-but they usually end up falling off. Aaahhhhhh!  No, I'm really not complaining-but I hope this stage goes quickly!

I woke up feeling like I may have a tiny cold coming on.  Which of course freaks me out because I have the super scopes on Tuesday.  I think I'm okay. Nothing got worse really. Sitting outside at freezing baseball games doesn't help though.  Hope tomorrow is warmer.  I'm going to order a pizza as my last meal before the cleanse.  I'm looking forward to being cleaned out and am going to start a clean diet regiment. This is going to jump start my weight loss.  I'll drop a few pounds before surgery-which is 24 days away!  Then I'll be sore and dopey for a few days and then I'll start exercising by walking all around Batavia-because I'll be off work and done with the hard stuff !!  Looking forward to a more pleasant summer.  I have a lot on my to do list!

Friday!

Im not sure why I'm so happy it's Friday but I am. It may have something to do with spring fever and the anticipation of summer break.  However it snowed today.  Really? What's that all about?

I had treatment this afternoon and all went well.  The treatment center was very quiet today , Which is bad for my nurse friends, but good for humanity.

I was talking with one of the nurses about the  genetic test I'm going have havenext blood draw. I wanted to know what you have to do if you test positive.  She said most people in her experience test negative. Good to know.  She said most women start with a double mastectomy.  Been there done that.  Then she said most end up with a full hysterectomy with ovaries removed.  This eliminates the risk of ovarian and uterine cancer.  Oh boy.  I just hope I test negative or else that means I have another major surgery on the horizon.  I'd like to go in and have all unimportant organs removed.  No need for them? Good riddance!!!

Trying not to think about this stuff until I have to.

Tonight Marley is sleeping at a friends, Brad and I took Dane for some pitching instruction, and the three of us went out to the Bavarian  Lodge.  We're full and sleepy.  Happy weekend!

Thursday May 15th

One, two, skip a few... That seems to be my blogging pattern lately. Today I went for PT, I'm very impressed with my gal. She has a doctorate in PT and other stuff-she checks on my charts so she knows what's going on-I like that she's interested.  She works hands on with me for about 15 minutes-then a trainer. She really worked the area around my sore expander. She said there is definitely more movement there, which will be better for the switch out. I know I have two more sessions scheduled.  I may stop about then and then have the surgery and maybe follow up if needed.

I had to stop at the GI to ask for new prep procedure papers...mysteriously I misplaced them.

Tomorrow I have Herceptin. It's an easy treatment now, especially because it isn't a bloodwork week. Next week is and I will have them draw the genetic test too.  Last night Dane asked me if BC was genetic. I said it could be. I told him that I didn't know if my mom had the gene and that I would be testing to find out about me. I told him if I was positive we would be extra careful for him and Marley. I had to explain that men could get it too.  He said he was more worried for Marley, that he loves her and doesn't want her to ever get it.  I almost cried right there.  I said I wouldn't tell them now anyway, no reason to worry. Plus it doesn't mean they would automatically have the gene, there is always a chance they wouldn't.   More things to worry about.  Too young to worry.

Overall I do feel pretty good.  I'm trying not to think about the super invasive tests next week and focus on the good stuff-like the 5lbs I'll drop from the uber cleanse I will have had.  Looks like I'll be getting a big jump on my diet...there is always a bright side to things...at least most things.

Good night.

Oh Dreary Day

Last night we had softball and baseball games cancelled. Kind of stinks because I already had them scheduled. This afternoon I didn't get out of work quick enough to make it on time to physical therapy. It's really hard to make a 30 minute drive in exactly 30 minutes.  I find that rushing to be stressful which doesn't help anyone.  I did call and cancel.  I was so tired I tried to lay down for 10 minutes on the couch... But that wasn't going to happen in my house.  When Marley came home she saw me on the couch and the first thing she asked was, "are you sick?"  Kind of broke my heart because she had to come home so many days to me lying on the couch either dealing with chemo or recovering from a surgery.  I want her to forget those days, put them far back in her memory bank.  I want her to remember only the good things.  We're going to have a good summer-that's my plan!

I had to cancel my massage also, which really stinks.  I couldn't be at Dane's band concert and go there-and Brad has to take Marley to piano- baseball was cancelled tonight also-crazy!

I'm sitting in the car right now because Dane needed to be at the concert early and it doesn't start for another 30 minutes.

Yesterday I picked up the prep for next week's body flossing... It was $60!!!! I looked at the cashier and said, "Holy crap!"  She tried not to laugh, but it was meant to get a giggle...I thought it was funny....at my expense literally and figuratively of course! Marley looked at me and said, "You shouldn't have to pay, that stuff should be free for what it does!" Boy is she right.

Trying not to think about it. I'm hearing mixed reviews... Everyone says no big deal because your out.  Fine.  Everyone agrees your'e tied to the toilet all night prior.  Got it.  But some people say they feel clean and great after, some say you feel weak and tired.  I'll let you know, I'll write a review... I am a senior contributor on trip advisor, I'm sure they'll want me to review a colonoscopy! Ha!

Happy Mother's Day 2014

Every time I get to say those words to anyone-it means I am here to be celebrating it also.  I usually end up somewhat disappointed by my brood's lack of planning and what not...but not this year...I set my expectations so low, that anything would be okay!  Sounds sad right? Nah, it is what it is.  Anyway, we had a nice day because last night at our elementary school's fundraiser-we won a raffle for 4 Sox tickets for today's game with free parking.  Since I knew we didn't have plans, and then I confirmed that with my sweetie...I placed my ticket in the raffle and won us something to do.  Go me!  It was pretty funny when we won, I had put Brad's name on it and he yelled, "Happy Mother's Day" and points to me...like it was all planned.  Ha!

I need to back up a little. Yesterday was the busiest day I have had this year, or even last year that didn't involve any medical crap. (or a close second for last November's race and concert in Madison). We started the day at 6:00 am to get Marley to her Girls on the Run 5K in Warrenville.  What a joke.  Not the race, but the traffic and how it was a nightmare. We had to get out of the car and walk to find our school.  We made it just in time.  Not happy with how that went down...but that is besides the point.  Anyway, she ran her first race!  She had a 7th grade running buddy!  She did great and we are so proud of her.  Today her legs still feel like jelly!  Then we got in the car, went home to change for her softball game. We were home for 30 minutes. Enough time for an egg and toast.  Mars and I headed back to Warrenville to her game.  If I had planned correctly, we would have had her softball stuff in the car and we could have gone to breakfast....She had her game (finally got coffee at 11:30-thought I wasn't going to make it).  It got hot and sunny, and of course we got some color.  Game over, in the car to get to Dane's game in Geneva.  Still hot and sunny, and starting to fade.  Game over, run to store, go home...30 minutes later at 5:45 get picked up to go to the trivia night.  Didn't get home from that until 11:30! I was beat!  Then today we went to the Sox game and to dinner at Maggiano's.  I am tired. I am full and I am ready for bed!

As for the family and Mother's Day...Marley wrote me three poems, Dane made a card, and Brad made me my Mother's Day cake that I totally forgot about and bought me a nice card...but I am glad the day got supplemented with good luck from a raffle.

I hope everyone had a great day!

Staying Positive in a World Unfair

This afternoon I spent a few hours with a wonderful child who was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. Watching a kid go through this is heart breaking.  It sucks enough to experience it first hand but to see someone a quarter of your age lose their hair and have to experience all of this is totally unfair. But, she was positive and looking forward to having fun with her friends this summer . She's a trooper and she is strong. I could relate to a lot of her stuff, and I just wanted to let her know that. And to tell her she's not alone and that whatever she feels is okay.  I understand the feeling of loneliness.  No matter how many people you have around you, this is a lonely trek.  The only people who could ever understand this horrible feeling are others who have had  this experience. Lived the fear and live the fear.  Nobody should feel this.

I didn't leave depressed. She has a great family and a positive attitude.  But I did go home and crack a beer.  Life is so unfair. I get that, but yet, I don't.

We went out to grab some tacos, and are home ready for an early night. Tomorrow is a busy day. We start out with Marley's 5k for Girls on the Run. I wish I was her running buddy, but not this year. Next time for sure. I'll be her cheerleader, because she's always mine.  Then we have a softball game, a baseball game and a school fundraiser at night!  Already tired thinking about it!

Fudge

So I finally make it home and it's 8:30pm.- it's been a long day. I went to PT which is fine, then to the GI, then picked up Marley and headed to Dane's game-where they lost.  Cereal for dinner, yippie.

I was feeling good. I was feeling positive and happy with my date for the switch.  My expanders have been a little less intensely painful, all was going in the right direction.  Until I go see the GI.  Nice doctor.  Told him my story, was very understanding and kept telling me to, "hang in there kid".  He said that he would be a moron and a bad doctor if he didn't scope me.  He looked at my CT and said that he saw nothing in the report. He said if there was anything significant in the colon it would have come up on the CT.  However, with my history, he said a scope will "ease my mind."  I told him I cannot hear those words because that's not how it worked out for me last time.  He apologized.  He then said while were at it he may as well check out my stomach through an endoscopy.  Fudgety, fudge, fudge.

Yes- I was breaking down-why wouldn't I?  Another doctor telling me that I am going to get a tube rammed down my throat and another up my &$@!  Fun times!! Yeah me!!! I get to drink crap that will give me massive diarrhea the night before!  I will be a slave to the toilet-and miss a softball and a baseball game.  Oh, and I can't even eat that day.  The next morning, I have to get up at 5:00 a.m.-and repeat the process.  Then at 11:15a.m.-empty as all get out-I go for the double scope. Do you think they'll do them at the same time and the ends will meet in the middle???? Wtf?  I'm upset. I'm scared. I don't want to do it. I just don't. I know that it's the right thing to do because what if there is something else? I don't know. If this turns out bad, I'm just plain old screwed.  Right now I'm just full of raw feelings and they aren't happy ones. This sucks.

However, I have to stay positive and hope that it is nothing more than some kind of ITBS or something.  Maybe it's nothing at all. At least by the end of this test I will have been thouroughly scoped and scanned. It doesn't even hurt right now.  Phantom pains? Stress induced?  I hope so.  I hope they find nothing at all, and that all looks pretty in there.  Until then I'm going to attempt to stay sane.

Mini-Panic

During the day the plastic surgeon's office called but I couldn't call back until the end of school.  I was having a mini-panic attack. The scheduling lady tells me that Rush Copley didn't have an open operating room that morning...insert increased panic here... So she said that they could do later in the day, but that would really throw off a lot of people OR move it to 8:00 am On Tuesday, June 10th.   I said move it.  Here's the problem. I am scheduled for treatment and oncologist on Tuesday.  I was supposed to get it on the previous Friday, but that's the last day of school and I didn't want to miss that. Now I have to figure something else out! Argh! Too many things land on the same days! Why??? At least I'm getting the procedure done at the earliest possible summer date! I've been juggling a crazy schedule so far, what's one more day!

I'm tired of all the after school running! I'm even more tired of being cold.  It was beautiful all day today until I got home. Then it rained. Then the sun peeked out and tricked us into thinking it was going to be nice for a game...that Mother Nature, she's a fiesty one!  The temperature dropped and we froze again.  I'm looking forward to a game where I don't have to be wrapped in a blanket in May!  And looking forward to freedom to breathe!!!

Carrot!!!

June 12!!!! That's it! That's the switch out date! Yippie!!! That's the week after school is out! Perfect! I can start planning my summer and looking forward to some releif! I felt so happy when I hung up the phone earlier today!  yeah!!!!!
A little over a month. It's going to be tough but hopefully it will fly by. Then I want a long, fun summer!  Marley said we should have the best summer EVER!  I agree! I'm all in!

Weekend Edition-

Happy Star Wars Day- May the Fourth be with you!

Another weekend has come and gone, too quickly for me.  Yesterday I was very vigilant about making sure I keep antibiotic ointment on my red scar area. I think it looks better, I do . Less red. I also don't feel anything, but then again-I don't feel anything there. I'll keep watching it.

Yesterday Marley had a softball game, and between being outside and a horrible Friday night's sleep I was toast the rest of the day. Friday night I barely could move or breathe all night.  The stabbing pain was relentless. I want these bastards out!!!  I even tried to nap on Saturday.  Haven't done that in ages.  I also had a bit of a freak out. I was having a conversation about recycling  with a friend and Brad and when I said something not so "green" I got smacked a few times in my left arm. It was all in jest.  However, I can't get hit in this arm-could end bad. I screamed and freaked. I've been so protective of this arm. If I get blunt trauma, or even a sliver I was told, I could get lymphadema.  I was really nervous. I put on my compression sleeve, but I didn't know what to expect. My hand was tingly and my arm was achy, both signs- I read.  I was freaking out in my head.  I was thinking how could I handle one more thing?  One more disfiguring issue?? Please no!  Oh my!  Didn't do anything the rest of the night but watch my arm.  24 hours + later-So far so good.  I'm not out of the woods totally, but I'm paying attention.  Fingers crossed!!  Lesson:  Don't mess around with recycling issues!!!

Today Dane had a game, did some stuff around the house, grocery shopped and baked cookies.  I'm tired. But here's the thing, I can't lay on the couch to chill because lying down is the most painful. Sitting even sucks. Standing up is the most comfortable, but it's also tiring and not easy to sleep.  Speaking of sleep and awkward positions, I have to document something Dane said last week. We went bike shopping and he had narrowed it down to two bikes.  We told him to "sleep on it".  His response was, "how do I do that?" "That seems uncomfortable."  Insert head smacking here!!!  Duh.  We all actually thought he was pulling our legs, but no. Nope. Duh. 7th grade boys are a whole different animal!!!

Tomorrow I am going to the Living Well center for an UrbanMeditation session that includes reiki and who knows what.  I'm also turning in the money my school collected for the facility.   Anything that helps me get back to being me is good.  I'll also call the plastic surgeon's office again to find out if there is a date for the switch.  The doc needs to know that I need it sooner than later!!! I've got people to meet, things to do, and places to go....

Friday

Looks like I forgot to hit the publish button the last post, my bad. TGIF! I'm glad it's Friday, not sure why but am. This week was busy, but fine.  Tonight we had a baseball game, which was cold and wet. But we won! Bonus! We, as in the four of us, went out for pizza afterwards, kids were pooped. Either way I didn't cook so once again- bonus!

I'm watching a small area along my scar line carefully. I have no feeling really, but it kind of feels like it would be sore. It's a little red-so I'm slathering antibiotic ointment on it. If it looks worse tomorrow I'll leave a message with the service to contact doc.   Hoping it heals on it's own.  Seems weird it would split open weeks after last fill, but who knows, a weak spot? A chink in my armor? Alien implant ?

But get this, the last two days the funky fluttering has greatly reduced. Just in time to see the GI! Go figure!  If that what it takes, I'm good with that.

Weekend of games and whatnot. Hoping for a break in the cold, dreary weather real soon. If I have to live in this, I'd move to seattle...much better coffee :)

Gleelliptical

I'm officially the parent of a teenager, yikes! We were planning on celebrating with a baseball win, but the game was cancelled. Can't say I was disappointed as it was freezing last night and I kind of wanted to hang as a family for Dane's birthday. So we did.  We went bike shopping for him. He has a few narrowed down.  We also took him to dinner at the Ale House, because it was the closest place that had great reviews for a blt, which is what he wanted for his birthday meal.  He also recieved several bags of 13 items from neighbors, family and friends. Everything from 13 jelly beans to 13 pictures of him over the years.  It was a nice night overall!

Today I hat PT again. Working on different shoulder and chest openers. I did notice though that I now have a red spot on my scar area. Like my skin is splitting. Kinda freaked out because that would be baaaaadddd. I also don't like the fact I can't feel anything to know if it's getting red due to an infection. I put some antibiotic ointment on it, and will give it a day or two. I may call to see if I could send the doctor a picture instead of driving an hour there for him to say-"let's try some antibiotics" or "it's fine!" Or even, " holy crap batman, we should do the change out today!"  Wishful thinking.  I don't think the PT has anything to do with it. I had a little scab going there awhile ago, but it went away. The skin is tight, maybe it's weak there and needs a break. Not sure what he would do at this point, remove some saline-that's not cool. I'm not crossing that bridge until I get to it.  When is this non stop crap going to end? I'm juggling a pretty busy life here body!  I don't have time for all this nonsense-geez!

No doctors or anything on the books until PT on Tuesday. Let's hope I don't need to hunt down the doctor to talk about this red spot. Fingers crossed a little antibiotic ointment will do the trick.

Been working out though-elliptical at 43-46 minutes- an episode of a show to get me through... Get this-I'm watching Glee.  People that know me know I hate musicals. However, in my defense, because I still hate musicals-on Glee they don't sing what they're saying-they sing songs. Big difference. Plus, great characters!!! Only on season two. But good distraction for a long workout.
